2013-08-07 Passing of Gagan (Raghvir) SIDHU

It is with much sadness that the BCMCL announces the tragic passing of Gagan (Raghvir) Sidhu, fellow cricketer and member of Abbotsford Cricket Club, following a car accident on Tuesday 6 August 2013. We extend our sincere condolences to Gagan's family and all his friends. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him in the cricketing community. Gagan's funeral will be held at 12 noon on Saturday August 10th 2013 at 34863 Cemetery Avenue, Mission, BC.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Gopaul-Singh, wife of Rodan Gopaul-Singh, retired cricketer and VCU&SA Umpire. The BCMCL extends its sincere condolences to Rodan, their children Pat and Megan and their six grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. All who knew her loved her, and we will all miss her. A celebration of Margaret's life will take place at her cherished home parish of St Mary's, Kerrisdale on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 2:00pm. (2490 W37th Avenue). In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted at the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC.

2013-06-20 Miri Piri T20 Cricket Tournament

BCMCL Presents first Annual Miri-Piri T20 Cricket Tournament hosted by BC Tigers Sports Club from June 20 to August 2nd.
There is a 1st place prize of $5,000, 2nd place of $2,000 and winners trophies. There will also be additional awards for Man of the match, Man of the series ($300+trophy), Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Best Keeper, Best Fielder, most disciplined team and many more.
We would like to thank BC tigers for the sponsorship which includes cash prizes and trophies.
BCMCL is celebrating 100th year anniversary with BC Cancer Foundation Cricket For cancer. We all may have someone in our life who has lost their battle to cancer. By organizing this event we are hoping to make a difference by winning the battle against cancer. Please be part of this battle and donate. 2013-06-17 NCL Players List - Pacific Edge Team

Cricket Canada will be hosting its annual National Cricket League tournament at Maple Leaf Cricket Club, in King City, ON, between 22nd June and 2nd July 2013. Canada's premier domestic tournament will commence on Sunday June 23rd with a 5 day 50 over round robin tournament, followed by a 3 day T20 tournament culminating with the T20 final on Canada Day, July 1st. In honour of recently departed and legendary Canadian cricket administrators, the 50 over and T20 competitions have been named the Jack Kyle Trophy and Clifford Cox Trophy respectively."

BCMCL will be hosting our annual Canada Day, Club Six-a-Side tournament on Monday, 1st July'2013 at Brockton Pavilion, Stanley Park.
Registration will be on first come first serve basis.- Maximum 16 teams. Clubs with more than one team can enter more than one team, approval is on Special Events Committee discretion.
Six-a-Side Registration fee is $100 per team. Registration deadline is Monday, 24th June 2013. Please forward your registration forms to [email protected] or fax to 604-909-2669

2013-05-20 Cricket for Cancer- Donation
|
|
BCMCL Proud to announce celebration of 100th year anniversary by hosting fundraising event for BC Cancer foundation, "Cricket for Cancer". This year it is BCMCL 100th year anniversary and BCMCL community felt that this is the best way to celebrate by giving it back to community by raising funds to have cancer free world. we all may have someone in our life who has lost their battle to cancer and by organizing these events we are hoping to make a difference by winning these battles against cancer.
BCMCL is donating $250 per team registering to play in Weekday T20. Tournament will starts in June, and will run until August 16th, 2013. We also encourage everyone to contribute in this good cause.

Cricket BC is pleased to announce the Alberta Cricket Senior and Junior team will be visiting BC between 27th and 28th Apr 2013, to play TWO 50 overs game (Seniors & Juniors) and FIVE T20 games (2 Seniors and 3 Juniors) and ONE President BC Vs President AB game. All the games will be played at Upper / Lower Brockton pavilion, Stanley Park at Vancouver on 27th/28 Apr weekend.

2013-03-11 BCMCL PRE-SEASON T20 2013 TOURNAMENT

DATES: Saturday 23rd March 2013 to weekend of 20th and 21st April 2013
REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT: The registration fee is $350 per team
To register, please complete the Pre-Season Twenty20 Registration Form and submit it together with the registration fee to the BCMCL. The form is available to download on the BCMCL website. Completed forms should be emailed to [email protected] or faxed to 604-909-2669. The deadline for registration and payment is 17 March 2013. No registrations will be accepted after this date.
TOURNAMENT DETAILS: A maximum of 20 Teams will participate. The tournament will consist of TWO groups, namely Group A and Group B. Group A will be made up of teams from the Elite, Premier and Division I teams. Group B will be made up teams from Division II to Division VI. Clubs with multiple teams are eligible to enter more than one team, however Group A players may not play for Group B teams.
Clubs must provide their 11 player team lists prior to the start of the tournament. All players must be registered with the BCMCL as per Governing Rule #11 - players must be registered no later than the Wednesday PRIOR to each player playing their first game.
Teams must purchase their own coloured uniforms for the tournament.
The League will supply white cricket balls for the tournament.
Playing rules, schedules and umpiring details will be sent to the teams once registration is complete.

2013-02-20 JUNIOR HIGH PERFORMANCE PROGRAM

Indoor U19 Junior High Performance Program is commencing this Saturday 23rd February 2013 and will be held every Saturday from 10am to 12 noon for six weeks at the Surrey Cricket Academy, 7536 130 Street, Surrey, B.C.
All junior players who played in the U18 Canada Cup last season are invited to attend. Any aspiring juniors who wish to improve their game and take it to the next level are also invited to come along and participate.

2013-01-11 Passing of Praveen Shrivastava

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Praveen Shrivastava on January 9, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday January 13, 2013 at Riverside Funeral Home (7410 Hopcott Road, Delta, BC). We appreciate friends joining Praveen's family to celebrate his life. Praveen was a very active cricket player for many years and more recently with the Over 40's mid-week league. Our sincere condolences go out to Praveen's family.
